Doris Jean Jacobs Carthron, 74, of Texarkana, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Carthron was born June 24, 1943, in Texarkana. She was a retired nurse with Day & Zimmerman and a member of Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Carthron Sr.; and one son, Mark Wesley Carthron. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas C. Jr. and Teresa Carthron of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Joyce Jacobs and John and Maggie Jacobs of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church with Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.
