GURDON, Ark.—Charles L. "Buddy" Allen, 89, of Gurdon died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2017, in an Arkadelphia, Ark., nursing home. Mr. Allen was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Gurdon. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Co., a Ford dealership manager, former railroad worker, a member of First United Methodist Church, Gurdon, and a Merchant Marine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Allen. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Karen Allen of Hot Springs, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Paul Roe of Arkadelphia; two sisters, Linda McCree of North Little Rock and Pat Talley of Gurdon; four grandchildren, Jennilyn Stone, Brooks Allen, Chris Roe and Sarah Reagin; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Toby Talley and Donnie Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hedge Cemetery under direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
