ERWIN GIPSON

Erwin Lenar Gipson, 39, of Wake Village, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, in a local hospital. Mr. Gipson was born March 9, 1978, in Texarkana, Texas. He was employed in customer service at Harte-Hanks and a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Gip" Gipson and Rosalyn Kay Abney-Gipson. Survivors include seven uncles and aunts, Marvin and Cheryl Abney of Newport, R.I., Barry and LaShay Abney of Atlanta, Texas, Thomas and Rose Abney of Houston and Zula Abney of Hawkins, Texas; three great-aunts, Donnie Stevenson of Jefferson, Texas, Earline Noiel of Texarkana and Charlene Noiel of Gilmer, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be noon Saturday at Greater New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Jared E. Noiel and Barry Abney officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Online registration is at haynesmortuary.com.
