Robbie Edward McKinney, age 75, of Leary, Texas, died Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home. Mr. McKinney was born November 27, 1942 in Texarkana, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot and a member of Everett Baptist Church. . He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda McKinney. Robbie enjoyed the sport of racing. He raced most of his life in the surrounding Four States area. He loved helping other racers work on their cars and gave advice to many of his knowledge of the sport. In his spare time, he and friends would gather in the McKinney Racing Shop in the back of his home and spend their time reminiscing about the Good Old Days while getting their cars ready for the next race. He passed his love of the race world on to the upcoming generation to carry on the legacy of the sport he loved so much. Outside of his world of racing his granddaughter, Robin and his great grandson and great granddaughter, Race and Sage were the center of his world. The 2B legacy will live on through the eyes of his granddaughter and grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Tammy McKinney of Leary, Texas; Mitch McKinney of Mississippi and Shalisa Rogers of Wake Village, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law: Doris and Ronald Turner of Leary, Texas; granddaughter: Robin Moon of Leary, Texas; two great grandchildren: Race Austin Moon of Leary, Texas; Sage McKinney Reeves of Leary, one nephew: Kenney Turner, one niece, Kellie Caskey, two great nephews, Bailey Turner and Andy Caskey, one great niece, Kenley Turner and a host of friends and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Ford officiating. Burial will be Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
