CHARLES GRAVES

AUSTIN, Texas—Charles Benjamin Graves Jr., 91, of Austin died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018. Mr. Graves was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Houston, Texas. He was an author, a retired civil engineer at the City of Texarkana, the City of Austin, Portland Cement Association, Cunningham Graves Engineers and Austin Spectrum, a teacher, deacon, and Chairman of Deacons at Hyde Park Baptist Church, a founding member of Austin Baptist Church, an Army colonel and a member of the Army Corp of Engineers. He was preceded in death by three wives, Nancy Grace Nichols Graves, Darlene Graves and Francis Graves. Survivors include five children and four spouses, Marcia Graves and Steve Brown, Chip and Cindy Graves, Maurine Graves and Rick Richter, Nancy Graves Linder and Carolyn Graves and Eddie Martinez; one brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Jan Graves; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Austin Baptist Church, 7016 Ribelin Ranch Drive, Austin, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Austin Baptist Church, the Charles B., Jr. and Darlene L. Graves/George W.
