Mary Elizabeth McPherson

DeKALB, Texas—Mary Elizabeth Calaway McPherson, 83, of DeKalb died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at a local nursing home. Mrs. McPherson was born July 2, 1934, in Temple, Okla. She was an assembly line worker at Maxwell House Coffee Co., homemaker, former Girls Auxiliary leader, former Cub Scout den mother and member of Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McPherson. Survivors include three sons, Don McPherson of DeKalb, Steve McPherson of Brenham, Texas, and Charles McPherson of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Jason McPherson, Jeff McPherson, John McPherson, Amanda Crowell and Beth Bardwell; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Don McPherson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Texas.
