Doris Juanita Ross Moulton

5/11/1936 - 6/21/2018 Doris loved reading, painting, dancing, teaching, antiquing, gossiping, empathizing, hanging out, birdwatching, cats and lots more. She played piano in church and at home, and she sang, a lot. She found a wonderful loving companion in James Moulton, and their devotion to each other tickled just about everyone who witnessed it. She loved extended family and enjoyed getting together any time. Doris greeted everybody with a smile and open arms regardless of their background. She volunteered to help administer vaccines to children, volunteered in museums and libraries and worked as a substitute teacher in local schools. She attended civil rights meetings and walked door to door and warmly welcomed diverse neighbors. During college she was a copy editor for the Corpus Christi Caller Times. She dropped out of college when her oldest was born but returned for an associate degree later in life. She made herself expert on early Texas domestic life and gave presentations at area historical associations and set up displays in libraries and recreation centers. She was an entrepreneur who owned and operated an antique store, sold ads for small newspapers and ran flea market booths.
