NEVA MEADOWS

DeKALB, Texas—Neva Nell Meadows, 89, of Simms, Texas, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, in a Mount Pleasant, Texas, nursing home. Mrs. Meadows was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Pickton, Texas. She was a retired teacher with James Bowie Schools, Simms, Texas, and a member of Siloam Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Riley Meadows. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry Ford and Sandra and Danny Goodwin of Simms; four grandchildren, Stacey Ford of Hallsville, Texas, Stephen Ford of Melissa, Texas, Brett Goodwin of Longview, Texas, and Kara McDonald of Anna, Texas; one special friend, Linda Braley; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Ford, James Ross and Steve Minter officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
