Mike Smith

Mr. Michael Keith Smith, age 65, of Ashdown, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in a Little Rock, Arkansas hospital. Mr. Smith was born August 30, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, and had lived most of his life in Texarkana. He was a member of City Church, was the Welding Program Coordinator/Instructor at Texarkana College and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife, Rita Smith of Ashdown, Arkansas, two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Tracy Johnston of Tucson, Arizona and Matt and Kim Smith of Texarkana, Texas, one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Smith of Texarkana, Texas, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Dave Oden of Schulenburg, Texas and Judy and Tommy Vaughan of Red Lick, Texas, and seven grandchildren, Kyle Johnston, Brittni Smith, Timothy and Emily Martin, Kristen Martin, Dustin McCormick, Devon McCormick, and Dillon McCormick. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 A. M. Friday at the Circle J Cowboy Church with Rev. Robert McCarver and Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Private burial will be at Red Lick Cemetery under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chapelwood Funeral Home, Nash, Texas, from 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday. The family will be at their residence, 614 Jones Drive, Ashdown, Arkansas.
