Jimmy Hood

Jimmy D. Hood, 78, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in a local hospice. Mr. Hood was born July 6, 1939, in Jacksonville, Texas. He was an upholsterer, a retired florist and a member of Rhema Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hood of Texarkana; two sons, Tim Hood and Jeff Hood of Texarkana; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Purcell of Meridian, Miss., Bo Moore of Lubbock, Texas, Elan Hood and Taylor Hood of Scottsdale, Ariz., Whitney Rogers of Mandan, N.D., Jonathan Hood and Ethan Hood of Texarkana; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jessie Haynes officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
