JUANITA McDONALD

Juanita McDonald passed from this life on June 16, 2018 at Senior Care in Midland, Texas. She was born on February 20, 1924 to Early and Lola Taylor in Lee County, Texas. She was raised there, and attended school in Lexington, Texas. After finishing school and making several moves with her family, Juanita went to work in Corsicana, Texas, where she met Robert (Bob) McDonald. They were married on June 26, 1947 and welcomed their son, James Robert McDonald, on his mother's birthday in 1948. Bob and Juanita enjoyed RV travel with friends and family. The family lived in Corsicana, Longview, and Hooks, Texas. After her husband's death, Juanita remained in Hooks, but moved to Midland, Texas in 2008 to be closer to her sister and family. Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooks, enjoying the fellowship of friends there. She continued her love of travel with her church group after Bob's passing. She also enjoyed her visits to Alaska to spend time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Although she did not get to meet all of her great-grandchildren, she loved seeing pictures of them. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) McDonald; her son, James Robert McDonald; her parents, Early and Lola Taylor; her brothers, Edward Taylor and Glen Taylor; and her sister, Geneva Stovall. She is survived by her grandchildren, Phyllys Callina and her husband, Nate; Adam McDonald and his wife, Erica; and Dylan McDonald and his wife, Lorie; three great-grandchildren, Torsten McDonald, Magnus McDonald, and James Taylor McDonald; her sister, Marie Arnold; her sisters-in-law, Helen Taylor and Roma Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. The family would like to thank Senior Care of Midland for their compassionate care for Juanita. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 pm on Thursday, June 21 at Chapelwood Funeral Home in Nash, Texas.
