JESSE SMITH

MAGNOLIA, Ark.—Jesse Lee "Tex" Smith, formerly of Magnolia, Ark., died recently. Mr. Smith was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Lisbon, La. He was a former employee with Coastal Transport, Galena Park, Texas, a member of South Side Riders Club, The Arkansas Trailblazers, and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Lisbon, and a Korean War Army veteran. Survivors include five children, Floyd P. Smith and Jesse F. Smith of Houston, Dwayne L. Smith of Los Angeles, Angela Smith Richardson of Dallas and Jessica Smith of Clearlake, Texas; one brother, the Rev. Tony Curtis Smith of Magnolia; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Magnolia and Willie Jean Riley of Ruston, La.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at R.L. Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Lisbon. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
