SHIRLEY MAYO

Shirley Ann Hill Mayo, 82, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at a local hospice. Mrs. Mayo was born May 23, 1935, in Texarkana. She formerly worked in marketing at Visiting Nurses' Association, was a former secretary at Red River Army Depot and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Queen City. Survivors include her husband, Richard Mayo; two daughters and a son- in-law, Cindy and Daren Pedron and Julie Steitler; two grandchildren, Ryan Steitler and Lily Turner; a brother, Johnnie Hill of Atlanta, Texas; and two special friends, Avis Reardon and Sue McAlexander. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Queen City, with the Rev. Ron Drye officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 304 Marietta St., Queen City, TX 75572.
