Betty Jo Dickerson Foulke ended her battle with cancer when she entered into His Presence on March 28, 2018. Her body is renewed and her faith is complete. Betty Jo was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas, July 12, 1934 to Olin and Ollie Dickerson. She grew up in Clarksville, Arkansas where she attended the College of the Ozarks. While attending college, she was a full time student with three jobs, held office in numerous campus organizations, played basketball for the college as well as graduated Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Business. She began her teaching career in Colorado where she married Lester (Les) Foulke, a lifelong friend, also from Clarksville. She was a beloved teacher in Texarkana at both Arkansas and Texas High. She was Tennis Coach, Pep-Squad Sponsor, FCA Sponsor and Health Teacher. She retired in 1988 from teaching and worked alongside her husband at Les' Guns and Gear for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Ollie Dickerson, and three brothers (Infant Robert, LeRoy, Larry). She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Les, her daughters Leslie Jo Mullins (Wayne) of Cabot, Arkansas, and Kimberly Suzette Rice (Jack) of Allen, Texas and five beloved grandchildren, Denver and Bridget Mullins; Taylor, Emily and Trevor Rice. Betty loved to spend time with her family, travel and especially enjoyed her summers in Vallecito, Colorado where she was blessed with many lasting friendships. Among many amazing attributes, one of the most cherished by her family is that she has, many times, been referred to as a "very honorable lady". This description is extremely accurate in both her business and personal life. She always desired to honor the Lord above all and demonstrated this desire by living a life surrendered to His Will. She will be missed every single day, but we look forward to seeing her once again when we meet Our Heavenly Father face to face. Celebration of Life will be held in Texarkana on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at East Funeral Home (Moores Lane) at 2:00pm. No graveside service at this time. The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the love and support of the caregivers of Hospice of Texarkana. A special word of thanks goes out to Linda Marlar, a true Godsend in our time of need. Online tributes may be made at www.eastfuneralhomes.com or East Funeral Home Facebook page.
