Jack Nixon
Jack Raymond Nixon, 96, of Texarkana died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Nixon was born May 14, 1921 in Natchez, Miss. He was a retired sergeant with Bowie County Sheriff's Department, former Captain for the Texarkana Sheriff's Posse, former President of Boots and Saddle Club and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by two wives, Billie Nixon and Alice Stroud Nixon.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Chantel Nixon of Texarkana; one daughter, Mel Brothers of Texarkana; two grandchildren, Clint Nixon and Bill Brothers; one great-granddaughter, Jasmine Nixon; four special friends, Donna and Jim Henke, Kay Shelton and Pam Thatcher Waddle; and a number of other relatives.
Private graveside services with military honors will be Friday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Burial is under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
