RENA SANDERS

Rena Lee Sanders, 96, of New Boston, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, in a New Boston nursing home. Mrs. Sanders was born March 7, 1922, in New Boston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Sanders Jr.; and one daughter, Edna Marie Ellis. Survivors include four sons and one daughter-in-law, Wayne Sr. and Nonie Sanders, Dan Sanders III and Gary Sanders of New Boston and Samuel Sanders of McAlister, Okla.; three daughters, Martha Sanders-Ross of Madison, Ala., Annette Smith of Arlington, Texas, and Bennette Sanders-Howard of Fort Worth, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Old Boston, Texas, with the Revs. Johnny Jackson and Dr. Stanley Hillard officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online registration is at haynesmortuary.com.
