BESSIE CORNELIUS

Bessie Jane Jones Cornelius, 89, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas. Ms. Cornelius was born Aug. 6, 1929, in Ozan, Ark. She was formerly employed in production with Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. Survivors include three sons and one spouse, the Rev. Jessie and Willie B. Cornelius, Bruce Cornelius and Lawrence Cornelius of Dallas; two daughters, Ivory Carmichael of Dallas and Beulah Brown of Texarkana; one brother, Dr. Aubrey Jones of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Helen Mensey of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Eleventh Street Baptist Church with the Revs. Jessie Cornelius and Eddie Hill officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the church. The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
