Joann Little

Joann Little, age 97, of Texarkana, TX, died October 26, 2018 at a local hospice facility. Joann was born in Texarkana, TX on Nov 2, 1920 to Harry and Lorena Weigel. She was a graduate of Texarkana, TX High School and received her bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University. Joann was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and later a member of the Junior League of Texarkana. On December 15, 1942, Joann married the love of her life, Lt. Porter Little at the home of her parents in Texarkana, TX. After the war, the couple spent much of their life in Galion, OH, where Porter was employed as a heavy equipment engineer for Galion Iron Works. Upon Porter's retirement in 1976, the couple returned to Texarkana where they were members of the Texarkana Country Club and remained active in the social community. Porter preceded her in death on October 29, 2001. Joann's love for dogs was unmatched and there was never a time when there weren't dogs in her home. She was always the happiest when she was in the company of her dogs. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 3 p.m. with Rev.
