Mary Helen Smith

HOPE, Ark.—Mary Helen Smith, 87, of Blevins, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Prescott, Ark. She was a housewife and a member of Marlbrook Baptist Church, Blevins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murl Smith. Survivors include three sons, Earl A. Smith of Benton, Ark., Stanley L. Smith of Blevins, Ark., and Lyn Smith of Charleston, S.C.; three brothers, Doug Steed and Bobby Steed of Blevins and Gene Steed of Camden, Ark.; two sisters, Maudine Welch and Dot Smith of Blevins; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Marlbrook Baptist Church, Blevins, with Jerry Hill and Neil Ridling officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
