NEW BOSTON, Texas—Genell Maxine Smith Wells, 73, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Wells was born Feb. 1, 1945, in Maud, Texas. She was a dispatcher and firefighter with the City of Wake Village, Texas, employed with Wadley Regional Medical Center and a member of Flower Acres Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Kennington. Survivors include her husband, Don Wells of Texarkana; five sons, Stacey Sumner of Wake Village, Jeff Martin of Queen City, Texas, Mike Martin and Donald Wells of Texarkana and Joel Wells of Wynne, Ark.; two daughters, Angie Kennington of Wake Village and Rachael Pfister of Redwater, Texas; one brother, Lloyd Smith of Murchison, Texas; two sisters, Kay Green of Maud and Debbie Merritt of Wake Village; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Flower Acres Baptist Church with Billy Luplow officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery, Maud, under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home.
