MELBA SPINKS

Melba Jean Spinks, age 85, of Texarkana, Texas passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Spinks was born March 30, 1933 in Sand Hill, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church-Texarkana, Golden Circle Sunday School, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Spinks. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Moilanen(Hank) of Redwater, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leland Spinks(Debbie) of Texarkana, Texas and Douglas Spinks(Rebecca) of Louisville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Clifton, Jennifer McDowell, Justen Spinks, Lauren Holmes, Rhonda Moilanen, Robert Moilanen, and Allison Rapson; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Gauntt; and a special friend, Sue Fountain. Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
