New Boston, Texas Katie Jane "Peggy" Pugh passed away on January 28, 2019. She was born in Texarkana on April 3, 1936 and spent much of her life in the area. She was married to Hal Pugh for 61 years and together they had five children. Peggy was employed for 45 years at Day & Zimmermann, where she made numerous lasting friends and memories. She was blessed with a large, loving family and a full and joyful life. Peggy was a champion of the underdog who had a remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel profoundly special. She was a master storyteller and lover of nature whose heart beat to the tune of polka and zydeco music. She saw extraordinary beauty in even the most mundane things, and she cared deeply for all living creatures, big and small. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She made the best peanut brittle. More than anything, Peggy led a life of exemplary generosity and selfless love. She is survived by her husband, Hal Pugh; her 5 children, Kenneth Pugh, Ruth Brower and husband Dennis, Donald Pugh and wife Kathy, Connie Dent and husband Todd, and Daryl Pugh; her 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her sisters Sue Hobbs and Betty Long and husband Bobby; and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy also leaves behind a host of beloved extended family and friends. Peggy was an exceptionally rare and marvelous individual who made an indelible impression on this world.
