JANE SCHUBERT

Alma Jane Shipp Schubert, age 98, of Wake Village, Texas, died Saturday, February 20, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Schubert was born October 14, 1922, in Nash, Texas to William Cullen Shipp, former Justice of the Peace in Texarkana and Ella Brower Shipp. She worked for Red River Army Depot as a telephone operator during World War II. Jane was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and socializing. She was also very interested in music, reading and art and at one time, an avid golfer. Mrs. Schubert was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Justin Carl Schubert, MD., two sons, Pierre J. Fitzgerald and Thomas M Fitzgerald; one grandson, Desmond Fitzgerald; and eight siblings. Survivors include one son David Schubert of Wake Village, Texas; three grandchildren, Raine Bumatay of Sanger, California, Sedona Gaspard of New York and Shannon Hunter Kennedy of Port Townsend, Washington; four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Amelia, Natasha and Mariene; two nephews, Dick Elrod of New Boston, Texas and Stuart McDonald of Texarkana, Texas; along with many other relatives. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
